Day 251: It's Raining, It's Pouring

It seems to be extreme weather/natural disasters month lately.  First the earthquake, then Hurricane Irene, now we are visited by the remnants of Tropical Storm Lee.  Unfortunately, Lee is hanging out a bit longer than desired, as Hurricane Katia is off the East Coast of the United States, keeping Lee hemmed in a bit.  It's brought us a week of near constant gray skies and rain, the worst of which has hit us tonight.  Our town has received about 6" of rain in the past 24 hours, and there was an hour or two when the rain came down at a rate of 2" an hour.  Crazy stuff.  The house seems to have weathered it well, although there were flooded areas around us and two people have died in Virginia after being swept away by flood waters.  Scary stuff.  Luckily, Easy-Going Baby, AKA Michal, is totally fine hanging out inside, playing, and just watching the crazy weather.
