Day 216: A Varied Palate

A few days ago I wrote about Michal's decided disinterest in peanut butter & jelly, exemplified by the rain of sandwich bits from her highchair.  We haven't attempted that again, although we have tried new foods.  Which Michal loves.  What has she been eating if not that good old American classic PB&J?

Emjaddrah, a Middle Eastern rice and lentil dish, and koshari, an Egyptian street food consisting of pasta, lentils and/or beans, rice, caramelized onions, and a spicy tomato sauce.

She is quite the fan of both of those dishes - here she is indulging in tonight's dinner of koshari, kebab, and some green beans.  But she doesn't eat PB&J.  She is so my kid.

Oh, and her hair serves as a pretty reliable barometer - it hasn't been quite as humid lately, as you can tell from her straight-ish hair.

Bailey came for a dinner visit.
He was plum out of luck, though, as she did not share ANY of her dinner tonight.

After dinner and during naked time, Michal shows off her favorite new game.  She takes pieces of a wooden puzzle, uses them to make noise, bangs them against the air vent, and then drops them inside this ceramic monkey sitting next to the glider.  Every single piece went inside.  She has become very adept at helping to put away her toys, but this was just funny.

LOVES her Simba.
