Yeah... she wasn't a happy camper. Tears and snot and the whole nine yards.
So we headed downstairs to hang out in the living room. Remarkably, Michal cheered up right away. The magic of those darned blocks.
... and books. She decided it was time to read books. So she headed over to her bucket of books, picked one out, and brought it back over to me. She climbed into my lap and settled in for some story time.
... thirty seconds later (maybe less), she decided it was time for a change and headed back for something new to read.
How about this one?
This routine happened a bunch more times.
Sometimes she will sit for an entire book, sometimes just a page or two.
"Hi, Mama - look what I found! A Bailey dog!"
She loves him so much, even if her petting him looks like she's trying to scratch his eyes out. We really need to work on her "gentle" approach.
Play time didn't last long. It's obvious that that afternoon nap had been necessarily, even if she'd decided otherwise. So I started making dinner... an hour earlier than usual. Off to bed with the girlie!
