Day 37: Super Bowl Baby

Today's big event was the Super Bowl, with the match-up between the Green Bay Packers and the Pittsburgh Steelers galvanizing fans into a junk food frenzy.  Well, maybe the teams that faced off did not garner the biggest excitement in recent NFL history, but it was still fun to gather with friends, watch the game, and critique the commercials.  Unfortunately we did not have a chance to switch to Puppy Bowl (I was voted down every time!), which is a shame as I am sure Michal would have loved watching their canine shenanigans.  Decked out in her most non-team-colors-specific outfit - I figured pink was a safe choice - we watched the game with our normal crowd of friends, with one special guest - Grandma.  My mother is visiting from California, so it was nice to have so many of our loved ones there for the gathering.

For the most part, Michal was only minimally interested in the football game - I like to think it was because the Ravens were not playing (she's a loyal fan already).  Unfortunately, with the game starting later, it only took two Packers touchdowns (and the accompanying roar of excitement with our mainly anti-Steelers crowd) to make this overtired baby's face absolutely crumple and dissolve into tears.  Before the tears, and the subsequent trip upstairs to go to sleep, here is Michal with her grandma, watching the game.
