Day 35: Jumping for Joy

One of Michal's favorite toys is the jumperoo her grandmother - my mom - gave her for Chanukah.  It came at the perfect time - right when she began to prefer to be upright.  While she still tolerated her bouncer and swing, the opportunity to have a different view of the world around her was preferable.  At the start, she used the jumperoo as a seat; she really just sat there, happy to be vertical, and observed (she does that a bunch).  After a long while, she started to reach for and sort of play with the toys.

Today, she discovered jumping.  Earlier, we would try to show her how to jump, and she seemed relatively okay with that, but really, it was pretty much a non-starter.   She now realizes that if she flexes her feet just enough, she moves, and boy did she love it.  She still does not quite understand what knees are for, but I am sure it will all become clear in due time.  For now, it's just fun watching the bounce with the accompanying wobble and attempt to stabilize herself.
